On June 19, an official ceremony will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, to sign a peace agreement between the United States and Iran. This was announced by Pakistan's Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who described the upcoming event as a significant diplomatic breakthrough.

Guaranteeing Stability for the Global Economy

According to the head of Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the signing of the document will provide the necessary level of confidence to global markets and the world economy. Dar particularly emphasized the importance of this step for developing countries, which have traditionally been the most vulnerable to regional conflicts and geopolitical instability.

During his speech, the minister thanked the countries that provided key diplomatic support in achieving this result. The list of mediating countries included Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Turkey.

Terms of the Agreement

Earlier, US President Donald Trump confirmed that an agreement had been reached between Washington and Tehran. According to the announced terms, the agreement provides for:

  • Opening the Strait of Hormuz for shipping;
  • Cessation of the naval blockade by the US Navy;
  • Iran's renunciation of the development and acquisition of nuclear weapons.

Ceremony Organization Details

Initially, Western media reported that the document was planned to be signed in a remote format due to logistical difficulties. Later, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs refuted information about holding the ceremony on Sunday, noting that the exact date had not yet been agreed upon. However, Tehran did not rule out holding the event in the near future.

Now, Ishaq Dar has expressed confidence that the June 19 ceremony will pave the way for lasting peace and shared prosperity for both the region and the world.
