The US government has taken another step towards transparency regarding Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP). As part of the government's PURSUE program, the Department of Defense has released another series of archival documents. Although the declassified materials lack direct evidence of extraterrestrial life, they contain detailed descriptions of incidents that still defy logical explanation.

'Potato-Shaped' Object Over Colorado

Particular public attention was drawn to an incident recorded in February 2022. The incident occurred near Fort Carson military base in the state of Colorado. Five US Army servicemen witnessed the appearance of an unknown object hovering over Mount Cheyenne.

According to the FBI report, witnesses gave an unusual description of the anomaly. The object had a 'potato-shaped' form with clear contours and was distinguished by a creamy-white pearlescent hue. The object's surface consisted of uneven panels or scales that were constantly in motion.

The anomaly hung motionless in the sky for about two minutes before vanishing instantly. Pentagon investigators initially suggested it could be an optical distortion—a reflection of light from snow on clouds. However, the military refuted this hypothesis, emphasizing that the sky was absolutely clear that day, and neither aircraft nor weather balloons were recorded in the area.

Glowing Spheres and Unknown Technologies

Another documented incident occurred in October 2023. Six federal law enforcement officers recorded the appearance of bright orange and red spheres over a mountain range. These objects periodically emitted smaller glowing bodies from themselves.

The Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) suggested that observers might have seen military flares. Nevertheless, in the final conclusion, the agency noted that the possibility of 'unknown technologies' cannot be ruled out.

Global Scale of Observations

The new batch of documents demonstrates that surveillance of anomalies is being conducted by intelligence agencies both within the US and abroad. Among the published cases:

  • Incident in the Northeast US (2025): A witness filmed a bright red sphere near a forest with a mobile phone. Inside the object, a white plasma core the size of a basketball was rotating. Soon, a second sphere appeared, and both flew away silently. The video recording of this event was subsequently officially published by the White House.
  • CIA Archive on Zimbabwe (2008): Dispatchers and witnesses in the area of the country's main airport observed a disc-shaped object with rotating lights. The report notes that at a certain point, the device began emitting powerful light beams.

The PURSUE Program and the Scale of Declassification

The publication of these files is part of the large-scale PURSUE initiative. The program was launched following a direct instruction from President Donald Trump to review and declassify all documents concerning potential extraterrestrial activity.

To date, about 300 specific files have become publicly available under this initiative, with archives dating back to the 1940s. The Department of Defense emphasized that the investigation and data analysis continue, so new batches of documents will be published as their legal review is completed.
