Lviv club Pokrova AMP has defended its title as the champion of Ukraine in ampfootball, winning the Super League of the 2026 season for the second consecutive time. The final matches of the final round took place on October 17 at the Revera 1908 stadium in Ivano-Frankivsk, where the Lviv team secured a narrow 1-0 victory over local Bartka in the 14th round. Zvyekov scored the only goal in the 13th minute, which proved to be enough to finish the season on a winning note and claim the gold medals.
The Championship Was Secured Back in August
Formally, Pokrova AMP guaranteed itself the title as early as August 9, when they routed Shakhtar Stalni with a score of 5-0. After that match, the Lviv club became mathematically unreachable for their pursuers in the standings. By the end of the entire championship, the team scored 38 points and took first place. The silver medals were won by the Lutsk Crusaders with 31 points, while MSC Dnipro took bronze with 21 points.
Club History: From Debut Gold to Title Defense
The current success is the second consecutive one for Pokrova AMP. The Lviv club first won the championship in 2025, when they became the winners of the debut Ukrainian ampfootball championship. Thus, over two seasons, the team has not only maintained its leadership but also confirmed its status as the strongest collective in domestic ampfootball, whose dominance has become a steady phenomenon rather than a coincidence.
Double Triumph: Club’s Reserve Team Wins First League
The 2026 season turned out to be truly historic for the Lviv club, as gold medals were won not only by the main team. The second squad—Pokrova AMP-2—won the First League ahead of schedule. The decisive match for the Lviv side was against Zaporizhzhia's Sich, which they won with a score of 4-0. Thus, both club teams finished at the top of their respective divisions.
Regulatory Nuances and Plans for the Next Season
Despite the championship, Pokrova AMP-2 will not be able to advance in class. According to the regulations of the Ukrainian ampfootball championship, two teams from the same club cannot play in the same division simultaneously. Since the main team already plays in the Super League, its reserve squad will remain in the First League. Next season, the elite division will expand from ten to twelve participants. Stal Bukovyna and Dnipro Chest, which took second and third places in the First League respectively, earned the right to be promoted. This expansion promises to make the competition in the Super League even more competitive and interesting for fans.
