In several regions of Ukraine, hourly power outage schedules will continue to be in effect on October 30. According to the operator of the unified power system, Ukrenergo, the scale of restrictions may reach 2.5 queues. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to an official statement by Ukrenergo on Telegram. The decision to introduce additional restrictions is due to the consequences of massive Russian strikes on the country's energy facilities, which continue to place a strain on the integrated power system.

Details of the Outage Schedule

According to information published by Ukrenergo, measures to limit electricity consumption by up to 2.5 queues will be applied in parts of Ukraine on October 30. This means that at certain times, consumers belonging to the respective queues will remain without power supply. As a rule, the schedules are in effect from early morning until late evening, covering both industrial and residential subscribers. The exact timetable and the list of queues for each region are published on the official resources of local Oblenergo companies, as the situation in the power system can change throughout the day depending on the state of the grid and the pace of restoration work.

October Series of Restrictions: Timeline

The current outages are a continuation of a multi-day series of restrictions introduced in October 2026. Already on October 21, some regions of Ukraine had hourly outage schedules in place from 06:00 to 23:59 with a volume of one to two queues, as reported by Ukrenergo. On October 22, the restrictions were extended. On October 25, a part of Kyiv—three districts of the capital—was left without electricity due to a network accident. On October 27, hourly outages were announced again; on October 28 (Wednesday), most regions operated with schedules of 1.5 to 2.5 queues from morning until late at night, and on October 29 (Thursday), the restrictions continued. Thus, October 30 will be the seventh consecutive day during which Ukrainian consumers face controlled outages.

Reasons: Consequences of Energy Strikes

Ukrenergo explicitly states that the cause for the introduction and extension of the outage schedule is massive Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy facilities and their consequences. In particular, on October 20, Russia struck Ukrainian power grids with the aim of causing a large-scale blackout. According to Channel 24, the power system withstood the strikes, and Kyiv was not left without power; however, equipment damage and the need for emergency repair work create additional load on the network. Energy Research Center director Oleksandr Kharchenko previously noted that thanks to preparation and rapid repairs, the enemy did not succeed in causing a total shutdown of large cities, but local damage requires time to rectify.

Recommendations for Consumers

Ukrenergo specialists urge citizens not to switch on several powerful household appliances simultaneously during the hours when electricity is provided according to the schedule, in order to avoid overloading local sections of the network. It is recommended to check up-to-date information on the schedule and queues on the official resources of the Oblenergo in your region. In conditions of multi-day restrictions, the operator also reminds about the need for economical consumption and readiness for possible changes in the schedule during the day.

Situation in the Power System: What Next

As emphasized by Ukrenergo, the state of the unified power system remains dynamic: depending on the pace of restoration work and new damage, the outage schedule may be adjusted. The operator recommends following official information channels and not relying on unverified data from social media. If the current trend of strikes on energy infrastructure continues and there is no significant progress in restoring damaged facilities, controlled outages may persist in the following days.
