The beginning of July marked a period of price tag revisions in Ukraine's largest retail chains. Following summer fluctuations, the market for staple goods shows mixed dynamics: in some places, prices have returned to stability, while in others, significant decreases or, conversely, price increases have been recorded.

Bread situation: product replacement

Shoppers and analysts have paid special attention to the bakery category. In the Auchan chain, the situation stabilized somewhat after a sharp price spike in June, although the assortment has undergone changes. Instead of the familiar half-loaf of wheat bread, which reached a price of 21.30 UAH, a new product appeared on the shelves — rye diabetic bread from the "Formula of Taste" brand.

The new 300 g item is offered to consumers for 20.70 UAH. This indicates that retailers are trying to keep the average check within acceptable limits by changing product units while maintaining price accessibility.

Eggs: price disparity between chains

In the egg category, there have been no global changes, but the price gap between different retail points remains noticeable. The Silpo chain demonstrated an aggressive pricing policy, significantly reducing the cost of a dozen Grade C1 eggs under the "Pashot" brand.

If the price was 52.28 UAH yesterday, by July 1st it dropped to 48.50 UAH. In contrast, a slight increase in the cost of the same category was recorded at Auchan. The price per egg rose from 3.30 UAH to 3.40 UAH, which translates to 34.00 UAH per dozen.

Oil: price drop at ATB

The vegetable oil category also showed positive dynamics. The ATB chain significantly adjusted the cost of its own brand's refined sunflower oil, "Svoya liniya" (Own Line).

A 0.5-liter bottle now costs 49.40 UAH, which is 3.73 UAH cheaper than in June (53.13 UAH). This decrease could be an important factor for the family budget, considering that oil remains one of the key components of the daily diet.
