On Friday, June 5, millions of clients encountered technical difficulties while attempting to use the services of one of Ukraine's largest banks. A major outage occurred in the Privat24 mobile app and the official PrivatBank website.
Reports of access issues to these services appeared on social media even before official confirmation. Users began mass complaints about the inability to log in to the app, making it impossible to conduct any financial transactions.
Bank Response and Incident Status
The PrivatBank press service promptly responded to the situation, confirming the presence of technical glitches. In an official statement, published citing RBC-Ukraine, the bank addressed its clients:
"Friends, we know there are currently difficulties with Privat24 and the bank's website. We are already working to make everything fast and convenient again."
Representatives of the financial institution assured that specialists are already resolving the issue and that services will soon return to normal operation.
History of Outages in Digital Services
The incident on June 5 was not the first case of unstable performance of digital ecosystems in the region recently. Earlier in June, users faced major issues with the Monobank mobile app, as well as the streaming platform Twitch and the messenger Viber. At that time, Monobank co-founder Oleg Gorokhovsky reported that Amazon confirmed outages on the AWS cloud services side.
For PrivatBank itself, this is also not an isolated incident. As early as May 11, clients reported that the Privat24 app was unavailable, preventing many from accessing the service to make payments. Previously, at the end of April, similar complaints were directed at Monobank when the app stopped loading and fund transfers were blocked.
