From August 11, 2026, PrivatBank has significantly expanded the opportunities for individuals to conduct currency operations. These changes were implemented in accordance with the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine, aimed at liberalizing currency control and increasing the accessibility of financial instruments for citizens.

New limits on purchasing non-cash currency

PrivatBank clients can now purchase non-cash currency online for up to 200,000 UAH per month. This feature is already available in the Privat24 mobile application, opening new prospects for those planning to make international payments or hold savings in foreign currency.

Expanded limits for overseas transactions

In addition to purchasing currency, the bank has increased limits for transactions abroad. Users can now pay for housing rent and accommodation services overseas when transferring from a currency account. The limit is 200,000 UAH per month, covering both SWIFT transfers and bank card transactions.

Importance of changes for clients

These innovations are particularly relevant for those who regularly make international payments, travel abroad, or own property overseas. Increased limits allow for more flexible financial management and reduce the need for additional permissions or complex procedures.

Contradictory data

While official statements from PrivatBank and the National Bank indicate a unified approach to increasing limits, some clients note differences in the interpretation of the rules. For example, some users believe that the 200,000 UAH limit applies to each type of operation separately, while others claim it is a general limit for all currency operations per month. The bank has not yet provided a final clarification on this issue.

Recommendations for clients

Before making large currency transactions, it is recommended to carefully study the terms in the Privat24 application or contact the bank's support service. It is also important to remember that these changes do not constitute financial advice, and it is advisable to consult with a licensed financial advisor before making decisions.
