The world of Sherlock Holmes is expanding again, and this time the focus will be not on the great detective, but on his eternal adversary. Archery Pictures has announced a series dedicated to John Moriarty, where viewers will see the villain in a completely new light — not just as an antagonist, but as a complex character with a double life.

Double Game: Academic and Criminal Magnate

The plot of the new story is built on the fine line between law and crime. The main character is officially a respected professor of criminal psychology at Durham University. However, behind the walls of the academy, he runs one of the most sophisticated criminal networks in northern England. This approach allows the creators to explore the psychology of evil from the inside, avoiding clichés and turning the character into a caricatured villain.

Law as a Weapon

A dramatic plot twist occurs when a rival gang declares war on Moriarty's empire. To maintain his cover and destroy his rivals, the professor makes a radical decision: he becomes a police consultant. Now the law becomes his personal weapon, and investigations become a tool for revenge. This is a unique opportunity to see how a brilliant mind manipulates the system from within.

Team of Creators

The screenplay is being worked on by Oliver Lansley, known for the series "Where Has Wanda Gone?", and Chris Cornwell from "Witchfinder". Their experience in creating complex psychological dramas promises to make the project deep and tense. Casting has not yet begun, but it is already clear that the role of Moriarty will be a real challenge for an actor capable of conveying the depth of this contradictory character.
