Passengers using suburban routes in the southwest of the Kyiv region should adjust their plans for the upcoming weekend in advance. «Ukrzaliznytsia» has announced a temporary change in train schedules on the «Fastiv — Kazatin» and «Fastiv — Myronivka» routes. The reason is urgent repair work on the railway infrastructure, which will begin on June 13 and last until June 15.
What will change in the schedule?
During the repair period, some suburban electric trains will not run according to the usual schedule. However, the carrier has tried to minimize inconvenience for passengers by maintaining the main morning and evening trips to Kyiv and back. This will allow people who are forced to commute daily for work or study to maintain their usual rhythm of life.
Increase in train capacity
To compensate for cancelled trips and ensure the transport of all those wishing to travel, «Ukrzaliznytsia» has decided to increase the number of carriages in the trains that will continue to run. Instead of the usual trains of 6–8 carriages, extended trains of 10 carriages will be released on the routes. This should reduce the load on transport and avoid overcrowding during peak hours.
Shuttle service and buses
During the repairs, shuttle railway service will be organized on the routes «Kyiv — Motovilivka» and «Kazatin — Kozhanka» without stopping at Fastiv. For passengers whose route goes through this junction point, an alternative is provided — additional bus service between Motovilivka and Fastiv stations. Transport will be carried out with the assistance of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
Long-distance trains — no changes
It is important to note that long-distance trains will continue to run according to the approved schedule. There may only be minor delays in individual trips, about which passengers will be promptly informed through the carrier's official channels.
Call for understanding
«Ukrzaliznytsia» calls on passengers to understand the temporary inconveniences, explaining them by the necessity of carrying out urgent infrastructure repairs. The company assured that thanks to the measures taken, passenger logistics should not suffer significantly.
Context: other schedule changes
This is not the only change in the operation of the Ukrainian railway transport in June. Earlier, there was news about temporary adjustments to suburban train schedules in the Kyiv, Poltava and Lviv regions. On some routes, the departure and arrival times have changed, and on the «Lviv — Rava-Ruska» route, the number of daily trains has been increased from two to four.
In addition, from June 28, a new «Ukrzaliznytsia» train schedule comes into force. The carrier is adding 12 new trips, transferring some popular trains to daily operation, extending routes to the mountain stations of Rahiv and Yasinya, and accelerating individual routes.
