On June 2, the weather in Ukraine will be uneven. Dry weather is expected across most of the country; however, an atmospheric front will bring precipitation to the west and southwest. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center.

Geography of precipitation

Forecasters predict variable cloud cover across the country. Significant changes are expected in the western regions. Moderate rain will fall in the west and southwest. In the Zakarpattia and Odesa regions, precipitation will be significant in some areas. Rain is not expected in the rest of Ukraine.

Risk of rising water levels

Due to the forecasted rain, some of which will be intense, the Hydrometeorological Center warns of a possible rise in river water levels. The impact of precipitation will affect the Dniester basin, as well as the rivers of the Prut and Siret sub-basins.

The forecasted rise in water levels will range from 0.2 to 0.8 meters relative to current levels. Changes are expected to occur between June 2 and June 3.

Risk regions

Rising water levels are expected in the following regions:

  • Volyn region;
  • Ivano-Frankivsk region;
  • Chernivtsi region.
