Successful tests of the new Striker combat unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) have concluded at a range in the Kyiv region. Developed by a Polish company, the drone demonstrated the ability to strike targets up to 1000 kilometers from the launch point. Ukrainian operators who participated in the testing have already evaluated the system's effectiveness and confirmed its combat capabilities.

Technical specifications and modifications

The Striker UAV belongs to the "Deep Strike" class of systems, designed for attacks deep in enemy territory. The maximum takeoff weight of the aircraft is 140 kg. The manufacturer offers customers a choice of two engine versions, each designed to solve specific tactical tasks:

  • Piston modification: Develops speeds from 90 to 180 km/h. This version is oriented towards tasks requiring economy and stealth.
  • Jet modification: Capable of accelerating up to 325 km/h. The high speed makes the drone a difficult target for air defense systems, allowing it to penetrate dense defensive perimeters.

Payload and range

The main advantage of the new product is the combination of flight range and payload. With a warhead mass of 40 kilograms, the Striker covers 1000 kilometers. This opens up possibilities for strikes on strategically important objects in the rear. If necessary, the charge weight can be increased to 60 kilograms, which increases the destructive potential of the aircraft.

Control system and data protection

Targeting is carried out in two modes: via pre-programmed coordinates or using a homing video head. A satellite channel is used for communication over long distances. All control channels are protected by reliable encryption, making the interception of control over the drone practically impossible.

The aircraft is launched from a pneumatic launcher. This mobile solution allows for quick preparation of the equipment for flight and rapid position changes, maintaining the stealth of the crews.

Multi-functionality of the platform

In addition to combat missions, the Striker has a wide potential for application. Thanks to its large range, it can effectively operate as a reconnaissance drone, observing enemy territory for extended periods. Furthermore, the aircraft can be used as an aerial target for training air defense crews.

Context of the development of the Ukrainian UAV industry

The successful testing of the Striker takes place against the backdrop of active development of domestic and international cooperation in the UAV sector. The company Triada Robotics is already working on the Bravo drone, capable of reaching speeds of up to 700 km/h and covering distances of up to 2000 km. Also, serial production of the Octopus-100 interceptor drone has been launched in Ukraine, designed to combat jet drones of the "Shahed" type. The uniqueness of the Octopus-100 lies in the launch of a missile on special balloons from an altitude of 12 to 18 kilometers.
