Amidst ongoing hostilities and the occupation of territories, many Ukrainians find themselves in a difficult situation: having lost contact with their employers, they cannot officially terminate their employment relationships. In response to this problem, the 'Diia' platform is launching a new service that will allow citizens to resign online and gain access to employment service benefits.
New service for those who have lost contact with their employer
As reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the 'Diia' press service, the platform is beginning to test a new feature aimed at helping people whose employment relationships have been interrupted due to occupation or hostilities. Now, such citizens will be able to officially resign through the app without visiting government institutions.
"If due to occupation or hostilities you have lost contact with your employer and cannot terminate your employment relationship — sign up for the beta test of the new service in 'Diia'," the press service statement reads.
Access to employment services
The service is not limited to resignation alone. After officially terminating employment relationships, users will gain access to employment services: unemployment assistance, retraining, and job search. This is particularly important for those who have been forced to migrate and need to quickly adapt to new conditions.
"Join to resign from work online without unnecessary visits, and after officially terminating employment relationships, gain access to employment services: unemployment assistance, retraining, and job search," the service developers urge.
Who can participate in the testing
The beta test of the new service is open to adult citizens of Ukraine who are officially employed at enterprises, institutions, or organizations in temporarily occupied territories. To participate, one must:
- Have a tax identification number, ID card, or biometric passport in 'Diia';
- Not have unemployed status;
- Not have submitted an application for unemployed status.
Those wishing to participate must fill out a form on the website and wait for confirmation of participation in the beta test.
Development of digital services in 'Diia'
The launch of this function is part of a broader strategy to digitize government services in Ukraine. Last month, the service introduced new features for parents and children: it is now possible to obtain a tax identification number for a child online and receive an electronic taxpayer card.
'Diia' also launched the AI assistant Diia.AI, which helps users process documents via chat. The service allows users to obtain a certificate of residence and quickly pay traffic fines without having to search for the relevant sections in the app.
The new service for resignation from occupied territories will be an important step in supporting citizens who find themselves in difficult life situations due to the war. It demonstrates how digital technologies can become a tool for social protection in extreme conditions.
