On October 1, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Defenders — a national holiday dedicated to everyone guarding the independence, freedom, and territorial integrity of the country. On this significant day, prominent Ukrainian artists, musicians, and television hosts expressed deep gratitude to the military, dedicating touching posts, personal addresses, and musical premieres to them.

Greetings from leading national artists

Well-known singers Olya Polyakova and Alyona Omargalieva joined the nationwide greetings on social media. Olya Polyakova published her own song dedicated to the Ukrainian military on Instagram-stories, emphasizing that it is precisely thanks to their bravery that citizens can live and work. Meanwhile, Alyona Omargalieva shared footage from her live concert, reminding society of the high price the Ukrainian people pay for every new peaceful day, and expressing hope for the swift return of all fighters home.

Cultural front and connection of generations

Particular attention on the holiday was drawn by large-scale creative initiatives. Military singer OKHTYRCHANKA presented a new composition and official music video titled "Battle for Light," which harmoniously intertwines images of glorious Cossacks and the daily lives of modern Armed Forces fighters. Active-duty service members of the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after Kish Otaman Ivan Sirko, Cossacks of Otaman Oleh Yurchyshyn, and musicians of the Honor Guard Orchestra of the Separate Presidential Brigade named after Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytskyi participated in the filming.

Social support and memory of the fallen

Celebrities also emphasized the importance of caring for veterans after the completion of their service. TV host Lesya Nikituk publicly stated the need to provide decent living conditions for demobilized soldiers and their families. At the same time, actress Natalka Denisenko and singer Iryna Fedyshyn expressed sincere gratitude to the Defense Forces for their invaluable contribution to protecting Ukraine's sovereignty and security, urging fellow citizens to never forget the heroes' feat.
