The new season of the Children's Railway in Rivne has officially begun. Trains, updated following a major modernization, are already welcoming their first young passengers. The opening was held with great fanfare: more than 1,500 people used the railway's services on the first day alone.
Major Modernization Thanks to International Partners
The infrastructure upgrade was made possible thanks to the support of the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and the organization Nova Ukraine. Partners provided modern technical equipment worth 1.7 million hryvnias. This allowed not only to update the rolling stock but also to improve conditions for safe and comfortable travel for children.
Surprises for Young Railwaymen
The season opening turned into a real celebration. Young railwaymen from Rivne, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Dnipro, and Lviv received books as gifts from the famous writer Devon Buffett. This event became a symbol of the joint efforts to develop children's tourism and education.
New Stamp for Collectors
Of particular interest to travel enthusiasts is the appearance of a new stamp for the "Traveler's Passport." Now, stamp collectors can fill their albums with a unique impression specifically from the Rivne Children's Railway. This is an excellent opportunity for family trips and creating new memories.
Operating Schedule and Ticket Prices
The current train schedule, departure times, and ticket prices are already available on the official website of the State Enterprise "Children's Railways." Tickets can be purchased online via a special form on the portal.
The cost of travel depends on the passenger's age and the chosen route type. A "retro" journey or an excursion trip costs more — for both children and adults. Children under 2 years old can travel free of charge provided they do not occupy a separate seat.
How to Save and What to Know
For those planning a trip, it is useful to remember the new rules for saving on tickets with the State Enterprise (UZ), as well as which services in the carriages are provided free of charge. It is also important to know up to what age young Ukrainians are allowed to ride in children's carriages — this information is regularly updated and available on the carrier's website.
Safety remains a priority. In case of the need to evacuate passengers, the State Enterprise follows a clear instruction that helps preserve the life and health of all trip participants. These measures are particularly relevant in the face of modern challenges.
