Kyiv drivers are warned about upcoming changes in traffic organization. From June 17, extensive roadworks will begin in the Dniprovskyi district of the capital, affecting one of the key transport hubs — Verkhovna Rada Boulevard. The restrictions will last for two weeks, although their duration may be adjusted depending on weather conditions.

Details of restrictions and work schedule

Information about the temporary traffic restriction was confirmed by the Kyiv City State Administration (KCSA), based on data from the municipal corporation "Kyivavtodor". The works will be carried out by specialists of the Road Operation Department (ROD) of the Dniprovskyi district. The main task is the repair and maintenance of roads and structures on them.

Specialists will work in stages. This means that the closure will not happen along the entire length at once, but in separate sections, which will allow maintaining the capacity of the highway, although in a limited mode. In case of worsening weather conditions, the work schedule may be revised, which will require drivers to pay increased attention to road signs and announcements.

Geography and logistics of the district

Verkhovna Rada Boulevard is an important transport artery located at the junction of the Dniprovskyi and Desnyanskyi districts, in the area known as "Sotsmisto". The section where the works are being carried out is in the immediate vicinity of Stroitelyiv Street.

For navigation, it is worth noting that several key streets and avenues adjoin the boulevard, including:

  • Mira Avenue;
  • Georgiy Toropovskyi, Serhiy Nabok, Dmytro Bahaliy streets;
  • Aleksandr Lazarevskyi, Yuriy Popravka streets;
  • Leonid Kadenyuk Avenue.

It is important to note that the boulevard is separated from Yevhen Sverstyuk Street by railway tracks, which creates a natural barrier and complicates alternative routes in case of serious congestion.

Context of the road situation in Kyiv

These works fit into the general plan for updating the capital's infrastructure. It was previously reported that "Kyivavtodor" plans to repair a number of other roads and bridges this year. In particular, public attention was drawn to the partial closure of the bridge on Beresteiskyi Avenue for pedestrians until autumn.

Drivers planning trips along this route are advised to study detour schemes in advance and follow updates from city services to avoid delays.
