New evidence of an aggressive disinformation campaign has emerged in the information space. Russian propaganda has launched a fabricated video claiming a complete defeat of Territorial Defense Forces (TDF) units on the Lyman direction. However, behind the 'realistic' plot lies a crude forgery created using modern technologies.
Technologies of deception: deepfake and speech synthesis
According to the Center for Countering Disinformation (CCD), a video has begun circulating online featuring a man in military uniform presented as a soldier of the 120th Separate TDF Brigade. In the recording, he allegedly describes a catastrophic situation, claiming that the command has fled, leaving the personnel to their fate.
However, a detailed analysis of the material refutes these claims. Experts determined that the speaker's face was altered using deepfake technology, and his voice is entirely robotic and artificially generated. This means that no real serviceman gave such an interview.
Recurring scenario and source of the leak
The organizers of this campaign are acting according to a well-rehearsed scenario. The original source of the leak was an account that recently spread another fake — this time about an alleged logistics collapse in the 57th Separate Mechanized Brigade.
The goal of such systematic information operations is obvious: to sow panic in Ukrainian society and create an illusion of a front-line collapse. The enemy masks its fabrications as 'appeals from Ukrainian soldiers' to maximize the credibility of the lies.

Context of the information war
Russian propaganda regularly resorts to creating fictional reasons for information pressure. This is not an isolated incident. In May, Russian sources actively disseminated disinformation about Ukraine allegedly losing control over the border region. At that time, Moscow claimed the 'capture of Obilne' in the Sumy region, but Ukrainian military personnel promptly refuted this fake, explaining the real situation on the ground.
In addition to fabrications about 'successes' on the battlefield, the Kremlin organizes large-scale international provocations. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has already responded to claims about an alleged 'attack on a bus with children' in the Bryansk region, calling Russia's statements an attempt to artificially drag Belarus into the war.
Reality versus propaganda
While information wars are fought on the digital field, occupiers continue to exert pressure on the civilian population in occupied territories. It was previously reported how Russia turned 'last bells' into a trap for school leavers in occupied territories.
In contrast to these actions, the Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to act in anticipation. In particular, a circular defense is being built around Odessa to protect the southern regions, the purpose of which the military explained in detail earlier. Real actions on the front and in the rear show that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to confidently carry out their tasks, despite the enemy's attempts to disrupt the rhythm and demoralize society.
