Russian forces launched a rocket attack on the Zmiivka hromada in the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region. As a result of the attack, a 55-year-old woman was killed, and eight other people sustained injuries of varying severity.

This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Syniehubov, whose words are cited by RBK-Ukraine.

Children among the injured

According to updated data, the injured include both adults and children. The victims include women aged 32 and 53, as well as men aged 28, 41, 26, and 50. Of particular concern is that a 10-year-old girl and a 16-year-old teenager sustained blast injuries.

All injured persons are receiving emergency medical assistance. All emergency services—medics, rescuers, and police—are working at the scene. The aftermath of the shelling is being addressed.

"Unfortunately, a 55-year-old woman was killed. My sincere condolences to the family of the deceased," Syniehubov expressed his support.

Kharkiv region under constant attack

This is not an isolated incident of attacks on the region. Russian forces regularly shell the Kharkiv region. For instance, on the night of June 9, the region experienced a massive missile and drone attack, resulting in five deaths in Chuhuiv, including a 22-year-old pregnant woman.

Tragedy struck again on June 15: during a repeat strike on Kharkiv, five rescuers from the State Emergency Service (SES) were killed while addressing the aftermath of previous shelling.

The situation in the region remains tense. Emergency services continue to operate in an enhanced mode, providing assistance to the injured and minimizing risks for the population.
