The 2026 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will take place this weekend on October 18 in Los Angeles, and the lineup of models hitting the runway has been gradually taking shape over recent weeks. Among them is former Victoria's Secret Angel Romee Strijd, who shared her casting experience on TikTok.
A Casting Process Lasting Over Five Weeks
The 31-year-old Dutch model Romee Strijd has walked in Victoria's Secret shows since 2014 and became one of the brand's Angels in 2015. This summer, she prepared for a potential return to the runway and traveled to New York in September for the casting. However, following the audition, she had to wait over five weeks for a final response, and was ultimately informed that she was not selected for the show.

According to Strijd, the reason for the rejection was that she did not fit the concept of the current show. The model also admitted that the prolonged waiting and uncertainty caused her stress. Despite her disappointment, she made it clear that she does not want to go through a similar casting experience in the future in order to preserve positive memories of her previous years collaborating with the brand. Another model who failed to make this year's lineup is Frida Aasen, who also announced that she did not pass the selection.

Among the models preparing to hit the runway this year are Gigi Hadid, Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Elsa Hosk, Alessandra Ambrosio, Ashley Graham, Joan Smalls, Liu Wen, Paloma Elsesser, Imaan Hammam, Anok Yai, and Alex Consani. Special attention is drawn to Alessandra Ambrosio, for whom this year's show will be a milestone — her 20th within the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show: the model first walked for the brand in 2000.
