Over the past 24 hours, Russian aviation and missile forces have carried out a series of coordinated strikes on key facilities of Ukraine’s fuel and energy sector. The epicenter of the attacks was the Kharkiv and Sumy regions, where critical infrastructure nodes of Naftogaz were damaged.
The situation in the Sumy region is particularly severe. The enemy launched two powerful strikes several hours apart, causing extensive destruction and igniting fires at the enterprise site. According to company representatives, the damage is significant, and eliminating its consequences requires substantial resources.
The attack was not limited to one region. Russian forces targeted facilities in four regions simultaneously, creating an effect of continuous pressure. This tactical approach, with strikes stretching over many hours, has become typical for the enemy — it is designed to exhaust air defense forces and prevent rapid restoration of infrastructure.
The situation in the affected regions remains tense. Naftogaz command reports that firefighting and damage assessment operations are ongoing. Previously, similar mass attacks were recorded in the Chernihiv region, where the company’s facility was also under fire for an entire day.
These events demonstrate that Ukraine’s energy infrastructure remains a priority target for Russian military forces. Despite protection efforts, each new strike deals a serious blow to the stability of the country’s energy supply.
