On the night of May 29, Ukraine's strategic infrastructure suffered new losses. Russian forces struck a bio-energy thermal power plant in Ivankiv, Kyiv region. This is not just an industrial facility, but one of the flagship projects of "green" energy in Eastern Europe, which has become a target of aggression.
The founder of "BiogasEnergy", Alexey Butenko, reported on the attack and the scale of the damage. According to him, the power plant, launched in 2016, sustained partial destruction. The facility, created with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, became a victim of a night shelling.
The losses go far beyond physical damage to buildings. $40 million was invested in the implementation of this ambitious project. The plant not only produced energy but also provided jobs for more than 400 people, supporting the regional economy.
For Alexey Butenko, this facility is not just a business, but a life's work into which hundreds of people have invested their efforts. However, despite the destruction, the entrepreneur does not intend to give up. He emphasized that aggressors may destroy infrastructure, but they are unable to break the will of Ukrainians.
The company has already announced plans to restore damaged capacities. "We will restore what has been damaged and become even stronger," Butenko stated, demonstrating readiness to revive the facility and continue operations under wartime conditions.
