On the night of July 30, a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile flew over Polish territory. This was stated by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Andrii Sybiga, reporting a violation of NATO airspace during a large-scale Russian attack on Ukraine.
Sybiga emphasized that this incident is further proof of the need to strengthen Ukraine's air defense. According to him, Ukraine's security is directly linked to the safety of Europeans, as Russia's actions extend beyond the borders of the aggressor state.
During this attack, the enemy launched 74 missiles at Ukraine, most of which were ballistic, as well as hundreds of drones. As a result of the strikes, civilian infrastructure in several regions of the country was damaged.
Casualties and destruction
Particularly tragic consequences were recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where a direct hit by a missile on a residential building killed parents and three children. Two more children were rescued from the rubble. In Lviv, another missile destroyed a residential building — more than 30 people were injured, some of whom are still trapped under the rubble.
Casualties and injuries were also reported in Kyiv, Poltava, Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Vinnytsia, Cherkasy, and other regions. According to Sybiga, at least eight people were killed across Ukraine as a result of this attack, with dozens injured.
Reaction of international partners
Against this backdrop, Donald Tusk urgently convened a meeting to discuss the situation. Earlier, explosions in Poland and the fall of an unidentified object were reported, confirming the seriousness of the threat to NATO countries.
Andrii Sybiga called on the international community to stop Russian terrorism before it is too late. He noted that the war against women and children continues, and the world must act decisively.
