A worrying incident involving Russian aviation has been recorded in Ukraine: a 'Molniya' drone attacked a key target but lacked a control antenna. This was stated by Serhiy 'Flash' Beskrestnov, an advisor to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense specializing in radio technologies. According to him, the drone's design lacked a communication system with an operator—it contained only a camera and an onboard computer.

Shift to autonomous targeting

According to the expert, this indicates that Russian drones are gradually moving towards fully autonomous navigation, target acquisition, and attack. "This is a bad sign," Beskrestnov emphasized. He noted that similar solutions had previously been seen in the V2U drone, which, in his opinion, is used to train neural networks.

Call to citizens

The advisor appealed to Ukrainians to report any such findings—either to him personally or to unit commanders. This will help in the timely analysis of changes in the enemy's tactics and the adaptation of defense measures.

Context of technological escalation

Previously, Beskrestnov publicly revealed other dangerous technological challenges for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including the shutdown of repeaters in Belarus and new methods of terror by Russia, including the use of unmanned boats to attack the coast.
