The situation on the front lines and in the diplomatic arena remains extremely tense. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has revealed shocking figures regarding the losses of the Russian army and commented on the progress of peace negotiations currently being conducted under the auspices of the new US administration.
Russian Army Losing Up to 35,000 Personnel Per Month
During his speech, Rutte emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to inflict significant damage on the enemy. According to him, the monthly losses of the Russian army reach between 30,000 and 35,000 killed and wounded. The NATO Secretary General called these figures incredible, noting that such dynamics have a devastating impact not only on the combat effectiveness of the Russian Armed Forces but also on the country's economy as a whole.
The Ukrainian side is demonstrating high efficiency in strikes against enemy rear objects. In particular, Rutte pointed to successful attacks on Russia's energy infrastructure, including oil refineries. A striking example was a recent incident in the Astrakhan region, where drones attacked a major gas processing plant that plays a key role in the country's fuel and energy sector.
Economic Exhaustion and Defense Budget
The scale of the war places a colossal burden on the Russian budget. Rutte cited data indicating that about half of Russia's state expenditures are now directed towards defense. Moreover, approximately three-quarters of all tax revenues are spent on military needs. Such a spending structure indicates a complete reorientation of the economy towards conducting hostilities.
Diplomacy: Rubio, Kushner, and Putin's Conditions
Parallel to the military actions, diplomatic activity has intensified. Representatives of US President Donald Trump's team are working towards a peace agreement in Ukraine. Specifically, through the efforts of Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Jared Kushner, who are key figures in this process.
However, according to the NATO Secretary General, progress towards peace is possible only on one condition: Vladimir Putin must agree to work on agreements jointly with other parties. At the moment, the Kremlin leader continues to insist on his maximalist demands, which hinders the start of full-fledged negotiations.
Technological Response: US Copies Ukrainian Experience
While diplomats seek a path to peace, military experts are looking for ways to strengthen capabilities. The US has announced its intention to replicate the successful Ukrainian experience of mass-producing FPV drones. The US Army plans to reach production figures of up to 600,000 such unmanned aerial vehicles per month, aiming to adopt advanced warfare tactics.
