The Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair has announced the launch of a major seasonal sale on airfares. The promotion, covering dozens of destinations within the European Union, has become possible thanks to the company's record financial performance last year. Booking at reduced rates is open until July 19, 2026, while flights at promotional prices are available until the end of October.

Financial background and promotion conditions

The decision to dump prices against the backdrop of stagnation among competitors is backed by a powerful financial report from Ryanair Holdings plc. For the 2025–2026 financial year, the carrier's net profit grew by 40%, reaching a record €2.26 billion. Passenger traffic also showed a 4% increase, exceeding the 208.4 million mark. These figures ensure the airline's high margin stability, allowing it to flexibly manage its fare grid and maximize seat load factors at the end of summer and early autumn.

According to the official regulations published on July 9, minimum fares start from €14. The base cost includes only a standard passenger seat and one piece of carry-on luggage. Additional services are charged separately.

The airline has distributed minimum prices across key hubs in the Baltic states, Central and Western Europe. Below are the verified cost parameters for popular routes:

Now, standard dimensions are 40x30x20 cm (about 24 liters), which is a significant improvement compared to the previous standards of 40x20x25 cm.

However, the carrier maintains strict control over compliance with dimensions. Mechanical calibrators are used in airports. In case of exceeding the standards, ground handling agents are authorized to forcibly rebook carry-on luggage as checked baggage with the imposition of a penalty fee. The cost of such a service at the gate can be substantial and depends on the flight load.

For those who require more space or comfort, Ryanair offers optional services:

  • Checked baggage: Transporting suitcases weighing up to 10 kg or 20 kg is charged according to a differentiated scale depending on the distance of the flight.
  • Priority Boarding: Allows you to bring a second, larger bag into the cabin (dimensions up to 55x40x20 cm, weight up to 10 kg). The cost of the service varies from €6 to €36 for online payment.

All changes in fares and rules are carried out within the framework of Regulation (EC) No 1008/2008, which regulates air transport in the European Union. The document enshrines the right of airlines to free pricing but obliges them to provide full and transparent information about the final ticket price, including all taxes and mandatory fees, at the stage of publishing the offer.
