The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has announced the detention of three individuals who, according to the investigation, organized and provoked riots in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka near Kyiv for a monetary reward. According to the SBU, a key element of their plan was to take a National Guard serviceman out of his temporary deployment location under the guise of medical evacuation. Law enforcement officers have already served the suspects with notices of suspicion and filed a motion with the court to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The "Fake Ambulance" Scheme: How They Planned to Evacuate the Guardsman
The investigation established that on October 30, 2026, a resident of the Kyiv region received an order for a monetary reward from another resident of the capital region. The task was to take an NGU serviceman out of the temporary deployment site. To implement the plan, the female suspect posed as a medic and used a private car unrelated to official medical institutions of Ukraine. She involved an acquaintance to play the role of a "paramedic" for money, who had conducted preliminary reconnaissance near the National Guard unit's location the day before.
Social Media Manipulation and Escalation at the Scene
While near the NGU deployment site, the fake medic began spreading manipulative information on social networks. According to the SBU, this caused public resonance and provoked clashes, as well as obstruction of the defense forces' activities. Separately, an active participant in the riots was detained who, according to the investigation, called for blocking and damaging a National Guard bus. Photos from the scene show damaged police service vehicles and a bus with a broken windshield, surrounded by a group of people at night.
What the Provocateurs' Phone Checks Revealed
During the inspection of one suspect's phone, law enforcement officers discovered correspondence with third parties discussing scenarios of unauthorized actions against Ukrainian defenders. The discovered materials, according to the investigation's assessment, indicate that the provocation was not spontaneous, but pre-planned with the involvement of multiple participants and distribution of roles.
Legal Consequences for the Detainees
SBU investigators served the provocation mastermind and her two accomplices with notices of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A motion to select a preventive measure in the form of detention has already been submitted to the court. The perpetrators face up to eight years in prison. The investigation into the case is ongoing.
