A dangerous spy cell working for Russian intelligence has been exposed in the Donetsk region. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) conducted a special operation during which a citizen who aided the enemy was detained, and a fighter hiding in her home was neutralized.
The Scheming Work of the Spy Pair
Investigators determined that the detained woman, previously unemployed, made contact with a Russian soldier who infiltrated the Lyman area for reconnaissance. This fighter, known by the callsign "Shaman," belonged to the 31st Motor Rifle Regiment of the 67th Motor Rifle Division of the Russian Central Military District.
The woman did not merely hide the saboteur but actively participated in military actions against Ukraine. Under the guise of ordinary walks, she surveyed the terrain to determine the locations of Ukrainian units. She passed the obtained coordinates to her "partner," who then relayed them via radio to command for artillery fire adjustment.
Neutralization of the Fighter and Arrest of the Traitor
SBU officers documented the activities of this pair in advance and prepared for the operation. When the special forces arrived at the address, the fighter "Shaman" offered armed resistance and was eliminated by Ukrainian servicemen.
The woman was informed of suspicion of treason committed during wartime (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). She is currently in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
This case serves as further confirmation that enemy agents continue to operate in frontline areas, attempting to damage the country's defense. The SBU continues its work to identify and neutralize such threats.
