From September 1, 2026, new rates for state scholarships will come into force in Ukraine. The increase will affect both academic and named payments. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the press service of the country's Ministry of Finance.
Budgetary financing
To implement this measure, 6.6 billion hryvnias have already been allocated in the state budget of Ukraine for 2026. These funds will be used to pay scholarships to students of educational institutions throughout the country. New tariffs will come into effect from the beginning of the next academic year.
Expansion of the support system
In addition to increasing basic payments, the government has updated the incentive system for certain categories of young people. From the autumn of this year, new academic scholarships will be available not only to university students but also to persons with disabilities.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed to consider the issue of increasing scholarships for students of vocational and technical schools. The authorities view this step as a tool to motivate young people to choose practical, in-demand professions.
