In the world of modern weaponry, where aerial drones dominate, experts' attention is increasingly shifting to the underwater element. It is here, hidden from eyes and radars, that the Ukrainian company Global Mark presented its new project at a prestigious defense exhibition in France — the unmanned underwater vehicle Sea Trident. This development is positioned as a tool capable of radically changing the balance of power in the Black Sea.
Stealth as the main weapon
The key feature of Sea Trident is its ability to operate underwater. This makes the vehicle practically invisible to traditional enemy systems tuned to detect surface targets or aerial threats. The main task of the device is to secretly penetrate enemy maritime zones and ports, where it can strike strategic objects.
Developers have adapted the vehicle for operations requiring full autonomy. This means the drone is capable of operating without constant operator control, making decisions independently during mission execution.
Specifications changing tactics
The technical parameters of Sea Trident distinguish it from existing analogues. The project's main trump card is its colossal range — 3218 kilometers (2000 miles). Such a figure allows for ultra-long missions without the need to involve additional support vessels for refueling or maintenance.
In addition to range, the vehicle boasts impressive payload capacity. It can deliver a useful load weighing up to 1000 kg. This opens up wide possibilities for using the drone as a powerful weapon against large warships or critically important coastal infrastructure.
Dynamic characteristics are also at a high level:
- Maximum speed: 18.5 km/h.
- Cruising speed: 11 km/h.
- Operating depth: up to 60 meters.
A depth of 60 meters is optimal for effective operation in coastal areas, allowing the drone to remain undetected by surveillance systems.
Autonomy and navigation
Sea Trident is equipped with fully autonomous control systems and adaptive navigation. This allows the machine to independently plot a route and adjust it depending on the situation. Developers have provided for a wide range of applications for the equipment, not limiting it to only sabotage tasks.
Development of Ukrainian drone construction
The appearance of Sea Trident is part of the large-scale development of Ukrainian robotics. While the underwater drone is paving the way for stealth operations, other developments are being tested on the front lines. Thus, a special Wardog TRN drone, created to ensure stable communication and video feed in conditions of powerful enemy jammers, may appear soon.
At the same time, work is underway on high-speed interceptors, such as the Dancer 4.5.0, capable of reaching speeds of over 450 km/h and striking targets at altitudes of up to 4.8 km. Furthermore, Ukraine has completed the development of its own glide bomb, the "Leveler," confirming the country's desire to create a full spectrum of autonomous combat systems.
