Large-scale search and rescue operations continue in Kyiv following a Russian missile strike. Rescuers, heavy engineering equipment, and dog handler units are clearing rubble in the Pechersk and Darnytskyi districts of the capital, where the damage has been most severe.
Operation in Pechersk District
Particular attention is focused on a destroyed building in the Pechersk district. Pavlo Petrov, a representative of the State Emergency Service (SES) in Kyiv, stated on 'Evening.LIVE' that preliminary data suggests up to ten people may be trapped under the rubble.
The exact number of people trapped under the debris cannot yet be determined. This will only become clear once the work to dismantle the destroyed structures is completed. "As of today, engineering equipment is operational, and the rescue operation continues. Unfortunately, according to our information, there may still be people here," noted the agency spokesperson.
Consequences of the Attack
According to the latest data from the SES, 15 people have died as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv. Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha confirmed the tragedy, noting that an entire family was killed in the strike by ballistic missiles.
The most significant damage during the combined attack, which took place on the night of July 6, occurred in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and the city of Vyshneve. Russian forces used both missiles and attack drones. In the capital itself, the main damage was recorded specifically in the Pechersk and Darnytskyi districts.
