On the night of June 30, Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles launched a second strike on the 'Dubna' space communications center in the Moscow region. This was announced by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, confirming that the facility, located more than 500 km from the state border, has once again become a target of an attack.
Target of the strike: reconnaissance and coordination
The head of state emphasized the strategic importance of the hit facility. According to Zelenskyy, this is a specialized satellite communications center actively used by the Russian side to conduct reconnaissance operations and coordinate the actions of occupation troops on the territory of Ukraine. The second strike on 'Dubna' became part of the plan for long-range sanctions aimed at complicating the conduct of hostilities by the enemy.
History of the facility's strikes
This is not the first attack on this complex. The first strike on the 'Dubna' space communications center was recorded on June 22. At that time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported damage to the modular equipment complex, including a 32-meter Mark-IV antenna, as well as a technical building located next to it. An antenna of this type is a critically important element for ensuring satellite communications.
Scaling up of strikes
On the night of June 30, the Moscow region was subjected to a massive drone attack. Video recordings began to circulate on social media, in which residents of the region recorded the flight of drones towards the capital of Russia. Zelenskyy reminded that the Ukrainian Defense Forces had previously successfully struck four similar communications centers, including facilities not only in the Moscow region but also in the Vladimir region.
Future plans
The President of Ukraine stated that Kyiv intends to continue implementing its strategy. According to him, retaliatory actions are already being prepared against other similar infrastructure facilities of the enemy. The goal remains to maximize the disruption of the aggressor's state systems that ensure the occupation of Ukrainian territories.
