During a briefing in Kyiv, Graham revealed details of his communication with the US President. He emphasized that Donald Trump is a person who values strength and results. In the context of the Ukrainian conflict, the American leader saw Ukrainians as those capable of winning.
"I don't want to speak for President Trump, but he was simply stunned by the success of the Ukrainian people, who are fighting for their own freedom," the Senator stated. Graham specifically noted that Trump was surprised by the Ukrainian army's ability to turn the tide of the fighting and demonstrate high effectiveness on the battlefield.
Technology as the key to the future
In addition to military successes, the US leader's attention was drawn to innovations being created in Ukraine. Graham reported that Trump is interested in the latest technologies being developed in the country and is considering the possibility of using them to strengthen the positions of the United States itself.
Particular emphasis was placed on the successes of the Ukrainian defense industry, particularly in the field of unmanned systems. The Senator called the refusal to cooperate with Kyiv in this area a strategic mistake for Washington, asserting that cooperation would strengthen the defense capabilities of both countries.
