In Zaporizhzhia, Russian forces struck the grounds of the regional children's clinical hospital. As a result of the shelling, the medical facility's building sustained damage: the facade and windows were destroyed.
Children and medical staff managed to take cover
Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, confirmed the attack in his Telegram channel. According to him, at the time of the air raid alert, all patients and medical personnel were in a safe shelter. Miraculously, human casualties were avoided — there are no injured.
Series of attacks on civilian objects
The incident with the hospital became part of a series of recent strikes on the city. The Ukrainian Air Force had previously warned of a threat to the region. In recent weeks, Zaporizhzhia has regularly been subjected to shelling:
- On August 2, Russian forces attacked the private sector, resulting in two people being injured and residential houses damaged.
- On July 25, a strike was launched against the warehouse of one of the logistics operators.
- On July 24, one person was killed and two others were injured as a result of an attack.
The situation in the region remains tense, and civilian infrastructure continues to suffer from the actions of the occupiers.
