A significant shift has been noted in the rhetoric of the Kremlin's official representative, Dmitry Peskov, which could have far-reaching consequences for Russia's internal politics. According to data from the Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC), the Kremlin spokesperson is increasingly using the term "full-scale war," moving away from the customary definition of "special military operation."
Informational Preparation of Society
Andriy Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, points out that Peskov openly states that the events, which began as a special military operation, have evolved into a full-fledged war. The expert believes this is not a random change in terminology but part of a calculated strategy. According to Kovalenko, Moscow is preparing the information landscape for radical decisions, specifically for a new wave of mobilization that could take place in the autumn.
Restrictions and Advice for Citizens
In the event that a mobilization scenario is implemented, the authorities may introduce additional restrictive measures, including a ban on citizens leaving the country. Based on this assessment, Kovalenko gave direct advice to Russians who do not want to end up on the front lines: leave the territory of the Russian Federation as soon as possible.
"Therefore, it is advisable for Russians to start leaving the country now, because a Russian soldier lives from 15 to 30 minutes at the front line," emphasized the expert, highlighting the high mortality rate in the frontline zone.
The Manpower Problem
The need to change tactics is confirmed by other sources as well. The independent Russian publication "Vazhnye Istori" reports that the flow of volunteers into the army is decreasing. In this regard, the Kremlin is considering various options for replenishing the ranks, including conducting a mobilization immediately after the autumn elections to the State Duma.
Earlier, Kovalenko warned that even announcing a new mobilization would only allow Russia to partially compensate for losses on the front. Meanwhile, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Ukrainian command is taking into account all possible scenarios of enemy actions and is ready for any development of events.
