In central Israel, in the Southern Sharon region, an armed incident occurred resulting in casualties. According to local emergency services, the shooting, which took place in three separate areas near the Palestinian city of Qalqilya, resulted in one death and five injuries.

Casualties and Injured

The MDA emergency medical service confirmed the death of a man, approximately 35 years old, from gunshot wounds. Medics also evacuated five injured people to Meir and Beilinson hospitals. Of these, two are in critical condition, and three are in stable but serious condition. The incident occurred in close proximity to the West Bank.

Law Enforcement Response

The Israel Police responded promptly to the attack. Authorities identified a vehicle preliminarily linked to the shooting and neutralized a suspect. Nevertheless, the police continue to search for other individuals who may have been involved in the attack.

Currently, the incident is being investigated as a terror attempt. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he is personally monitoring the developments and will assess the current security situation.

According to Reuters reports, the terrorist group Hamas praised the shooting but has not officially claimed responsibility for the incident.
