On the evening of June 13, an incident involving the use of a firearm occurred in Irpin, Kyiv region. Gunfire was recorded in the city, directed towards civilians. The police responded promptly to the alarm and detained the suspect.

Information about the shooting began to spread on social networks on Saturday evening. Official confirmation from law enforcement agencies was received after a report of the incident was submitted to the duty service at 21:14.

Preliminary data suggests that an unknown individual began firing shots at passersby on one of the streets of Irpin. A patrol police response unit and an investigative-operational group immediately arrived at the scene.

Detention of the Perpetrator

Police officers quickly identified the shooter and detained him. He turned out to be a 47-year-old local resident. The police reported that no one was injured as a result of the incident.

Information regarding the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations. The actions of the detainee are classified under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — hooliganism.
