A significant paradigm shift has occurred in the diplomatic confrontation with Russia. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybyga publicly thanked European partners for their resolve and refusal to yield to pressure from the Kremlin. This statement served as a direct response to a series of threats Moscow unleashed on the Ukrainian capital in an attempt to demoralize the international community.

Pressure Tactics Have Lost Relevance

The head of Ukraine's Foreign Ministry analyzed the current situation and concluded: the methods of psychological influence that Russia has applied for years have ceased to work. If threats could previously make diplomatic missions consider evacuation, today Western partners are demonstrating iron will.

"Perhaps such intimidation was effective many years ago. But today — no," Sybyga emphasized, noting that European countries are no longer afraid of Moscow's rhetorical and physical threats.

Response to Strikes on Kyiv

The occasion for the discussion was a massive missile strike on Kyiv and the capital region that occurred on Sunday. The attack led to tragic consequences: four people were killed, and more than a hundred were injured. The Russian Foreign Ministry had previously announced these actions as "targeted strikes" and simultaneously demanded that foreign diplomats leave the Ukrainian capital.

However, the West's reaction was diametrically opposite to the Kremlin's expectations. The embassies of the USA, France, and Germany, as well as EU representations, publicly rejected calls for evacuation. Instead of fleeing, European diplomats remained at their posts, confirming their solidarity with Ukraine.

Diplomatic Response

Instead of retreating, Western countries chose the path of a tough diplomatic response. France, Germany, and EU institutions summoned Russian ambassadors for explanations, condemning aggressive actions and threats. The issue of Kyiv's security became a central point in negotiations between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Mark Rubio. Moscow tried to use this channel for pressure but failed to achieve the desired result.

Events of recent days have shown that the international community no longer takes Russian threats seriously. The diplomatic resilience of partners has become a powerful signal: Ukraine will not be left alone in the confrontation with the aggressor.
