Kyiv hockey club "Sokil" confidently continues its performance in the regular season of the Ukrainian Hockey Championship for the 2026/27 season. In another match, Oleh Shafarenko's team won an important victory over "Odeshchyna", recording a final score of 2:0 in their favor. This success became the second in a row for the capital's team at the start of the new national championship, confirming the team's high ambitions in the current tournament.

Key Match Segment and Scoring Burst

The fate of the match was actually decided within a short playing segment in the middle of the first period. The opponents closely watched each other for a long time, demonstrating tight defense and not allowing each other to create dangerous moments near the goal. However, in the 11th minute of the match, forward Danylo Tyshchenko managed to use a pass from Oleksandr Tymchenko and opened the scoring in the game.

Lightning-Fast Second Goal

Before the "Odeshchyna" hockey players could recover from the conceded puck, the Kyiv team launched another rapid attack. Just 17 seconds after the first goal, Artem Burdakov doubled "Sokil's" lead. Maksym and Danylo Zherebko assisted on the second goal. This minute-long knockdown largely predetermined the further course of the entire meeting, depriving the guests of confidence in their own abilities.

Reliable Defense and First Points of the Season

In the two subsequent periods, the nature of the game changed: "Odeshchyna" tried to turn the tide of the match and actively attacked, but the Kyiv team's defense played flawlessly. "Sokil's" goaltender and defenders worked reliably until the final whistle, securing the team's first "clean sheet" match of the current season. Recall that in the opening match of the season, the Kyiv team defeated "Kremenchuk" away with a score of 6:2, remaining without a single loss of points.
