Ukrainian singer SoloHa, known for her provocative style and striking image, has openly spoken about her long-standing attempts to participate in the international Eurovision contest. The artist admitted that she has been submitting applications for several years in a row, but receives a rejection every time.
"I would break the bland picture"
According to the performer, her desire to represent Ukraine on one of the world's main music stages remains relevant. She is convinced that her participation could significantly increase the resonance of the contest and draw attention to her message.
"I am a certain character in the show business. Let's not say "personality". Exactly a character. Everyone is different, but I know that the ratings would be good with me. I would attract a lot of attention — to my message, to the fact that I am not afraid to speak, to my message," — noted SoloHa.
She also emphasized that with her image, choreography, and costumes, she could create something non-standard and interesting, which would differ significantly from the current, in her opinion, "sad and bland" picture of the contest.
Who is behind the rejections?
When asked if the reasons for the rejections are explained to her, the singer stated that she has her own vision of the situation. In her opinion, they simply do not want to give her such an opportunity.
"I can cross someone's path very much, I am sure of it. Someone is not interested in giving me such resonance and creating competition in the market. Now everyone is fighting for their own: there is a war in Ukraine, there are fewer territories, fewer corporate parties," — believes the artist.
SoloHa also suggested that behind the scenes of the selection, not only creative but also business decisions may be taking place. "It's business. Why should someone help me or negotiate for me, bring a lot of money? Because I am sure that they negotiate there too," — she added.
Why is this important?
Her words sounded like a challenge to the selection system and a reminder that behind every rejection there may be not only a creative assessment but also hidden interests. SoloHa continues to insist on her right to be heard — on the international stage.
