Ukraine is on the verge of a sharp change in the climate scenario. On May 28, warm days will give way to noticeable cooling, which will affect almost all regions of the country. Meteorologist and synoptic Natalia Didenko warned that the territory of Ukraine will find itself "in the rear of a cold atmospheric front".

A cold front is not just a change in temperature. It is a powerful physical force that brings with it heavy, dense air currents. That is why the synoptic predicts not only a drop in thermometer readings but also an increase in wind to storm gusts.

Temperature Spread and Wind Load

During the day, the air will warm up only to +15...+19°C. Night indicators will be even more contrasting: depending on the region, the temperature may fluctuate from +5°C to +16°C. For Kyiv, for example, strong northwesterly winds and a decrease in daytime temperature to +15°C are forecasted.

"Cold air is heavy, it presses strongly. Due to the resistance of warm air, the wind will intensify," explains Natalia Didenko.

What to Expect Next?

Cool weather will persist until the end of the current week. However, the synoptic promises that already in early June, on the "premiere of summer," the temperature will start to rise again. Thus, May 28 will become a kind of "climatic break" between spring and real summer.
