On the night of July 2, the capital of Ukraine was subjected to a large-scale attack by the Russian armed forces. As a result of a multi-stage assault, during which the enemy used unmanned aerial vehicles, ballistic and cruise missiles, a facility critical to the city's life support was damaged.
According to information received from Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, the strike hit a building in the Shevchenkivskyi district, where one of the ambulance stations was located. As a result of the incident, staff members of the service were injured: both drivers and medical personnel.
The situation regarding the casualties is assessed as extremely serious. One of the paramedics, who sustained injuries during the attack, is in critical condition. The exact number of casualties and the extent of the building's destruction are being clarified.
This attack is a continuation of a series of strikes on the Ukrainian capital. Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, relying on intelligence data, warned the population of the high probability of a massive strike that night. The head of state urged citizens to strictly observe safety rules and remain in shelters during the air raid siren.
