Search and rescue operations continue in Kyiv following a massive attack on the city. According to the latest data, the fate of eight people remains unknown, while the number of casualties from the tragedy has reached 30.
Scale of Destruction and Losses
The Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has published updated data on the consequences of the strike on the capital on July 2, 2026. As a result of the attack, 30 people were killed, and another 99 city residents were injured. Search teams continue to work at the site of the destruction, trying to find the missing persons.
Among the missing is a 15-year-old girl. The search operation has been ongoing for the second day, but there are no results yet. The whereabouts of seven other people are also unknown.
Condition of the Injured
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko spoke about the condition of the injured. Four children are in hospitals, including a one-year-old boy and a five-year-old girl. Their grandmother and parents also sustained injuries, but their condition has been stabilized.
Particular attention is drawn to the fate of a ten-year-old boy who was successfully operated on yesterday. His parents have not yet been found under the rubble, so the city head assumes that the child has likely become an orphan. Currently, the boy's grandfather is with him in the hospital.
Government Response
In connection with the attack, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that only a real threat to Moscow itself can stop Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The head of state emphasized that any claims of his "tender feelings" towards temporarily occupied Crimea do not correspond to reality.
Search and rescue operations in the Darnytskyi district continue. Authorities urge citizens to remain vigilant and not approach areas of destruction unless necessary.
