A nighttime Russian attack on energy infrastructure during the night of November 7, 2026, damaged one of DTEK's facilities in the Kyiv region. As a result, part of the Brovary district was left without power, and the company warns that restoring electricity supply will take significant time due to the scale of the destruction.

Scale of damage and working conditions for repair crews

DTEK reported that electricity was cut off in parts of the Brovary district as a result of the Russian strike. According to company representatives, the scale of destruction is considerable, so the return of power supply may be delayed. Additional complications are caused by constant air raid alerts and the threat of repeated strikes: due to danger, repair crews cannot always work continuously, which extends the restoration timeframe.

Power supply in Kyiv and Chernihiv

On the morning of November 7, following the nighttime attack, emergency power outages were introduced in Kyiv, and disruptions in heat and water supply also occurred. In Chernihiv, an accident at a power supply facility left the city completely without electricity: about 150,000 subscribers in several districts of the region, as well as in Slavutych, were left without light.

Strikes on Vinnytsia region energy sector
