On Friday, July 3, a series of coordinated attacks by Russian occupiers targeted fuel and energy infrastructure objects in the Poltava region. The main direction of the strike was the Lubenky district, where enemy drones hit several gas stations. As a result of the shelling, equipment damage and human injuries have been confirmed.
Scale of destruction in the Lubenky district
Vitaliy Dyakivnich, Head of the Poltava Regional Military Administration, confirmed that during the air raid alert, the enemy attacked one of the gas stations. According to him, the strike hit critical nodes: gas station equipment was damaged, windows were shattered, and a car parked nearby was also damaged.
That same evening, Russian drones continued their aggression by attacking two more gas stations in the same district. Currently, no information about new victims or casualties resulting from these subsequent strikes has been received by emergency services.
Situation with casualties
The situation regarding human casualties remains alarming. As a result of the first shelling, one person was injured and is currently receiving necessary medical assistance. However, the overall picture of the incident turned out to be more complex.
The National Police clarified that the total number of casualties from enemy attacks in the region has increased to six people. Among the injured was a volunteer — a citizen of Sweden. A separate drone hit on a car located near one of the gas stations in the Lubenky district was also recorded. In this case, fortunately, no injuries were sustained.
New operating rules for gas stations
Regular strikes on infrastructure are forcing businesses to adapt to wartime conditions. Due to the deteriorating security situation, the WOG gas station network announced the introduction of a special operating mode in certain regions of Ukraine. The new service format, designed to minimize risks for staff and customers, came into force on July 1.
Attacks on gas stations are not a local phenomenon. Russian troops systematically strike infrastructure objects in the Sumy region, where many gas stations have already sustained serious damage. A similar picture is observed in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where several complexes were recently attacked.
