On July 7, a powerful airstrike carried out by Russian forces hit Kharkiv. The target of the attack was the Shevchenkivskyi district of the city. As a result of the strike, fires broke out in the district, and numerous buildings sustained serious damage.
Casualties and Injured
The situation regarding the injured remains tense. According to the latest data, a 54-year-old man was killed in the attack. The number of injured has risen to 21 people, including four children.
Oleh Syniehubov, Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, provided details of the incident. According to him, the strike was carried out using guided aerial bombs (KAB). As a result of the explosions, 15 people were injured, including two children. Eight injured people were hospitalized, two of whom are in critical condition.
Six more people, including three children, suffered acute stress reactions. Medical personnel provided them with assistance directly at the scene.
Scale of Destruction
The strike hit the roadway, leading to extensive destruction in the surrounding area. The blast wave damaged the glazing of nearby buildings and parked cars. Cars and dry grass on open ground were burned in the fire.
Significant damage was inflicted on social infrastructure facilities. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, medical and educational institutions were damaged. Gas stations, residential buildings, and warehouses were also affected. Rescue services arrived promptly and extinguished the fires.

Initially, it was reported that 11 people suffered blast injuries and another five suffered psychological trauma. Among the injured were children, including three from the same family.
