In the morning of July 26, Kharkiv was once again struck by Russian forces. A 'Banderol' missile was fired at the city, hitting a private residential building in the Slobozhanskyi district. The attack resulted in casualties and destruction, with all relevant emergency services currently working at the scene.
Casualties and Injured
Initial reports from Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov only confirmed the impact and noted that information was being verified. However, the picture quickly became more tragic.
As of 09:21, there was one confirmed death and three injured. Among the victims was a child. The situation continued to deteriorate: ten minutes later, the number of injured rose to six, including two children.
Scale of Destruction
In addition to human casualties, the strike caused significant damage to infrastructure. As a result of the attack, more than ten private residential homes were damaged in the area where the munition fell. The force of the explosion was sufficient to cause extensive destruction in the residential sector.
Context of Escalation
This is not the first attack on Kharkiv this month. On July 19, Russian forces struck the city's suburbs, resulting in deaths and numerous injuries to civilians.
Separately, a series of attacks on logistical infrastructure should be noted. It was previously reported that occupiers attacked the territory of the innovative sorting terminal of 'Nova Poshta' in Kharkiv three times. As a result of these strikes, two company employees and a partner carrier driver were killed, and several other employees were injured.
