On the night of July 2, the capital of Ukraine experienced one of the largest combined attacks in recent times. Russian forces used drones and various types of missiles, striking seven districts of Kyiv. Conflicting data regarding the targets of the attack and its consequences continue to emerge from both sides of the conflict.

Russian MoD Version: Strike on a Military Enterprise

The Russian Ministry of Defense officially stated that during the massive strike on Kyiv, only military objects were hit. Specifically, the department claims that the target was not residential housing, but an electronics industry enterprise.

According to information disseminated via the Russian MoD's Telegram channel and confirmed by RBC-Ukraine, Russian forces struck the LLC "RADIONICS". The department claims that this assembly and parts enterprise produces critically important components for missile systems:

  • Control systems for long-range ground-based cruise missiles "Flamingo";
  • Operational-tactical missiles "Fire Point-7" and "Fire Point-9";
  • Guided missiles "Neptune-MD";
  • Surface-to-air guided missiles.

Representatives of the Russian military department traditionally do not report on possible casualties among the civilian population or destruction of residential areas, insisting on the precise destruction of military infrastructure.

Reality on the Ground: Destruction and Fires

While Moscow calls the target "military," Ukrainian rescuers are recording massive destruction of civilian infrastructure. The State Emergency Service (SES) has published photos of the attack's aftermath, showing the consequences of direct hits.

Fire brigades were forced to extinguish large-scale fires in residential high-rises, private housing areas, and industrial warehouses. Special attention from rescuers was required for a building in the Shevchenkivskyi district — a three-story ambulance station caught fire there.

Attack Results: Figures and Facts

According to Ukrainian authorities, strikes hit more than 30 locations across all districts of the capital. The SES confirms significant direct hits on residential buildings, refuting the version of an exclusively precise strike on a military plant.

According to the latest estimates, as a result of the attack in Kyiv:

  • More than 10 people died;
  • Almost 90 people were injured;
  • Destruction was recorded in seven administrative districts of the city.

The situation in the city remains tense; rescue operations continue at sites of collapses and fires.
