During the night in the Dnipropetrovsk region, another attack on civilian infrastructure occurred. A Russian drone struck a freight train locomotive directly. The incident has been confirmed by the Ministry of Communities and Territories Development, with details provided in reports by RBK-Ukraine.
Human casualties miraculously avoided
The key factor preventing a tragedy was the timely response of the railway workers. At the time of the impact, the train was already stationary. The train was stopped prematurely, and the locomotive crew managed to evacuate. These operational actions allowed for the avoidance of casualties among the personnel.
Cleanup efforts and systematic attacks
Currently, all relevant services are working at the scene to mitigate the consequences of the shelling. The Russian Federation continues to systematically attack the Ukrainian railway, aiming to disrupt the operation of critically important transport infrastructure.
This is not the first such incident in recent times. Previously, other objects were also targeted:
- At the Kovel station in the Volyn region, drones damaged a locomotive and a freight car. The blast wave from the impact shattered windows in the locomotive depot workshop.
- In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a drone attacked an electric locomotive. As a result of that incident, the driver was injured and received necessary medical assistance.
