Civilian infrastructure in Ukraine has once again become a target for Russian attacks. Today, around 16:20, a powerful strike hit the sorting terminal of the country's largest logistics operator — Nova Poshta — in the Chernihiv region. As a result of the shelling, the building suffered serious damage; however, fortunately, no human casualties were reported.
Scale of Destruction and Operational Response
Visual evidence from the scene demonstrates the scale of the damage: walls are destroyed, the roof is partially collapsed, and the interior of the sorting center has been turned into ruins. Despite the critical condition of the facility, the company responded promptly to the emergency. Employees began to contain the consequences of the strike, and clients were able to track the status of their shipments through familiar channels — the mobile app and the official website.
Targeted Attacks on Civilian Business
The attack on the terminal in the Chernihiv region is not an isolated incident. The Russian side is increasingly choosing Nova Poshta facilities as targets, attempting to justify strikes on civilian objects with false accusations. In particular, as early as June, Russian authorities labeled the company a "logistics center for the Armed Forces of Ukraine," which served as a pretext for the terrorist act in Sumy.
The escalation of violence against logistics infrastructure poses a direct threat to the lives of personnel. A tragic example occurred in early July in Zaporizhzhia: during a drone attack on a Nova Poshta branch, one of the company's employees was killed. These incidents confirm that strikes on civilian objects carry a real threat to the lives of employees ensuring the country's operations.
Service Development Despite Threats
Amidst constant threats and regular shelling, the logistics operator continues to develop its services, striving to minimize the impact of military actions on the lives of Ukrainians. Recently, the company launched a pilot project for overnight parcel delivery, aimed at accelerating the receipt of shipments. This solution demonstrates the business's desire to adapt to new realities and maintain operational efficiency even amidst ongoing aggression.
