The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has struck one of the key objects of Russia's oil and gas infrastructure — the 'Tamaneftgaz' terminal in the Krasnodar Krai. The attack was carried out by the SBU's 'Alpha' Special Operations Center with the support of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) and the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Scale of Damage
According to the SBU, drones hit five fuel storage tanks located in the terminal's park, as well as two oil loading gantries. Additionally, the fire engulfed the truck parking area and the warehouse facilities of the complex.
'Tamaneftgaz' is the largest facility in southern Russia for the transshipment of liquefied hydrocarbons. Its operations are directly linked to the export of energy carriers and the generation of revenue which, according to Ukrainian authorities, is used to finance military actions against Ukraine.
Goal of the Strike — Depriving Resources
The SBU emphasized that such attacks are aimed at systematically weakening the economic base of the Russian war machine. 'Oil dollars turn into missiles, drones, and ammunition with which the enemy attacks our cities. Therefore, the SBU will continue to deprive the Russian war machine of resources for waging war,' the department stated.
Air Defense Response and Related Incidents
Russian air defense positions protecting the terminal were also hit. As a result of the attack, air defense elements were damaged, indicating the high precision and coordination of Ukrainian forces.
The night before, on June 13, drones also attacked a sea terminal in the Temryuk district of the Krasnodar Krai. According to the region's governor, Veniamin Kondratyev, a fire broke out due to falling drone debris. One person died, and three others were injured.
Series of Strikes on Infrastructure
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the same night, Ukrainian forces launched a series of strikes on objects in the Volgograd, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, and other regions. Among the hit targets were important elements of the enemy's oil transport infrastructure.
These actions demonstrate Ukraine's growing ability to conduct deep raids on Russian territory, using unmanned systems and coordination between intelligence agencies and military structures.
