During the night, Russia experienced a large-scale series of attacks by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) on strategically important objects deep within the country. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed strikes on facilities in the Yaroslavl and Tula regions, located more than 700 kilometers from the border.

The main target of the operation was the "Temp" oil depot in the Yaroslavl region. According to the agency, this facility is of critical importance to the Russian state reserve. The SBU reports that the depot is used to store gasoline, diesel fuel, and other materials, which are subsequently supplied to the north-eastern regions of Russia, as well as forming strategic reserves for the needs of the Russian army.

Consequences of the attack on oil depots

As a result of drone hits, a large-scale fire broke out on the territory of the "Temp" depot. According to sources, at least three major fire foci were recorded in the tank farm, where 60 fuel storage tanks are located.

Parallel to the strikes on "Temp", drones attacked another facility in the region — the "SpetsTorg Plus" oil depot in Rybinsk, located near Yaroslavl. According to RBC-Ukraine, the facility also caught fire, and footage of the fire was circulated online.

Strike on chemical production

A separate strike was carried out against an enterprise in the Tula region. The target was the "Azot" plant in Novomoskovsk, which specializes in the production of explosives. As a result of the attack, a powerful fire broke out on the enterprise's territory, and thick smoke rose over the plant.

Kyiv's reaction

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the events, calling them "good results" of the application of long-range sanctions. In his message, he emphasized that Ukraine is fulfilling the plan of strikes on important objects on the territory of Russia and temporarily occupied territories.

Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv had offered Moscow all possible formats of negotiations, but the response was only the continuation of aggression. "It is logical that the war returns to where it came from. Ukraine needs peace," the head of state wrote.
